Immediate placement and immediate restoration in the aesthetic zone: opportunities and limits
Immediate placement of dental implants is a challenging procedure based on shortening of number of surgeries and overall time of treatment. Despite these advantages, there are some possible disadvantages or risks of complications to consider. Correct planning and correct execution can contain adverse phenomenons and bring to predictable results. Immediate restoration is more and more challenging because a temporary, not intentionally load with masticatory forces, is applied during osseointegration period. Main interest for this procedure is represented by soft tissue architecture maintenance and aesthetics in general. Hard and soft tissue should be cautiously evaluated to obtain adequate primary stability and three-dimensional prosthetically driven placement. Following the initial fundamental specific knowledge, clinical cases for various clinical indications will be presented .
Learning objectives:
- Specific theoretical knowledge about immediate placement and immediate restoration.
- Establish a correct case planning in anterior region in case of hopeless dentition.
- To prevent incorrect implant placement and lack of stability.
- To select and realize temporary solutions.
- To improve soft tissue around dental implants with heterologous and autologous soft tissue grafting.
