Driving Predictable Patient Outcomes in Immediate Anterior Esthetic Cases
Pro-Arch using BLX implant offers many benefits practically as well as biologically. Dr Fibishenko will examine the definition of success beyond osseointegration, and the ABC’s of ensuring the we meet our patients expectations irrespective of how complex the anatomy or clinical presentation might be
Clinicians are constantly challenged to remain abreast of the literature and to help guide their patients in their treatment decisions. At times, biases towards certain treatment plans/outcomes overshadow potential clinical advances that we are exposed to in literature and education events. Immediacy of treatment still falls into this abys in many practices: Yet immediacy has the potential to act as a powerful tool to reengage our patients as they consider their return to our clinical practices- it should be one of our tools to reinvigorate an interest in dentistry as it has the potential to reduce the costs and number of appointments associated with implant treatment.
Immediacy doesn’t just apply to full arches to be edentulated and restored with pro-arch, all-on-4 or 6. It includes the application to single tooth and small spans which are part of our daily clinical challenges. The success of these procedures mandates an understanding of which cases/areas can be treated by this approach, what methods are required to minimize tissue changes associated with extractions/surgery to enhance the pink esthetics, technologies which idealize implant position, along with integration of reliable transitional and definitive restorative designs and materials.
Learning objectives:
-
Explore how digital planning and in particular face-in reverse engineering has become an integral part of our case preparation. Recognize how powerful this is in establishing an environment for success with our technicians behind the scenes;
-
Discuss the common surgical procedures that we consider for stable long-term peri-implant phenotypes in our immediate implant cases;
-
Recognize why BLX will become the gold standard in single/small edentulous site implant-based rehabilitation;
-
Review how provisionalization using different formats at the time of implant placement sets the tone for esthetic tissue success and simplifies definitive restoration decisions and design.
